Virginia (Cabral) Aniconi Obituary
Leaving us all with beautiful memories, our family announces the passing of Virginia (Cabral) Aniconi, who died peacefully at the age of 93 on August 27, 2025, while in the care of the good people of Saint Antoine Residence in North Smithfield, RI. She enjoyed the caring people, the fun, and the structured days there since 2019. Born in Providence, RI, Virginia was the loving daughter of the late Manuel and Antonia (Pacheco) Cabral. In early adulthood, Virginia enjoyed working as a telephone operator and later worked at Barlow Design. She made her happy home in Providence with her five children and former husband Edward R. Aniconi, who preceded her in death. Later in life she resided in East Providence. Always ready to go, she enjoyed music and the company of others. She was a loving, resilient, generous, religious, and compassionate lady to all who knew her. She loved to travel and shared those experiences with her son Derrek F. Aniconi, who preceded her in death this May. Virginia leaves behind her loving children Edward (Karen) Aniconi, Lisa (Carleton) Munsill, Vera (Mark) Lawrence, and Mark M. Aniconi. She is survived by her adored grandchildren Oliver, Lily, Elaina, Maxwell, Marissa, Jesse, and Christian. Virginia also loved her many nieces and nephews and we thank Elaine for always giving her special attention and help. She will miss her good friends Mary and Jeannie, too. She was preceded in death by her brothers Manuel, Erbano, Mariano, and her sisters Amelia, Antonette, Florence, and Olympia, who she had great fun with.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday September 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Rosary Church at 21 Traverse Street in Providence, RI. Following Mass, we will gather at the chapel before her burial at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 550 Wampanoag Trail in Riverside, RI. Virginia is in the fine care of Olson & Parent Funeral Home.
