William Bell III Obituary

William Bell III was born on June 1, 1964, in Cleveland, Ohio, to parents William Bell Jr. and Laretha L. Bell. He attended John Marshall High School and shortly thereafter enlisted in the United States Army (US), where he served honorably as a Administrative Specialist from 1982 to 1985. Upon his discharge from the US Army, William pursued a medical career in diagnostic radiology at the City College of San Francisco (SF) and subsequently became a highly regarded Radiology Technician at several esteemed healthcare facilities across the nation, including Valley Hospital and Medical Center Spokane, Diagnostic Radiologic Technologists at the University of California (UC), St. Mary's Hospital, SF Cleveland Clinic, and the UC Davis Medical Center, UCSF along with various traveling assignments until his final assignment with Saint Anne's Hospital, Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island.

William was an avid lifelong learner, evidenced by his consistent attendance in educational settings. In addition to radiology, he pursued courses in Urban Administration at Cleveland State University and Paralegal Studies at Herald College. As a young man, William made his profession of faith to devote his life and Christian beliefs.

Although he struggled with this decision in October, 2024, William made a heartfelt decision to recommit his life to Christ and was a member of Lighthouse Covenant Fellowship in Benicia, CA, and the Christian Bible Church in Missouri City, Texas respectively.

William loved the leisurely life, in his spare time he traveled, rollerbladed, practiced martial arts and enjoyed bowling from time to time. He played both the piano and guitar and was fluent in Spanish and German. William is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Laretha L. Bell, and grandparents Helen E. Smith, John A. Dukes and William Bell, Sr. (Lillian); uncles Sammy Ingram, Eugene Bell and Jessie Bell. He is survived by his cherished siblings, Lemorah W. Chisolm (Veronica), Alleatha L. Bell, DeSean F. Bell, Troy Bell and Brittany Bell. William is also survived by his uncles, Fredrick D. Griffin (Tonia), Willie K. Smith (Joyce), Willard Bell (Phosia), aunts, Carolyn Hill (Levito), Catherine Bishop, and Mildred Armstrong (Calvin) and great aunt, Edna M. Sheppard. He had a niece, Monique L. Bell-Eddins, and nephew, Isaiah D. Bell, both of whom held a special place in his heart. William cherished his great nieces and nephews, Jaden, Xavier, Gabriel, Elise, Zahara, and Zyeon, and their remarkable achievements. He is also survived by a close-knit family of loving aunts, uncles cousins, and friends.
