William Anthony DellaGrotta, age 64, of North Kingstown passed away peacefully at Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence September 27, 2025.
William "Billy" was the beloved brother of Anthony DellaGrotta and his wife Erin of Greene, Rhode Island, and Lisa Brown and her husband Charles of Coventry. He was a proud uncle to Brian Marchesseault, Kyle Brown, Christina DellaGrotta, Anthony DellaGrotta, and Catherine DellaGrotta, and a cherished great-uncle to Felise Marchesseault.
Billy graduated from North Kingstown High School with the Class of 1978 and later pursued his love of the ocean by taking numerous courses in oceanography at the University of Rhode Island. He worked for many years at Bostitch and Rowe Vending.
A devoted son, Billy selflessly cared for his aging parents in their later years, blessing them with his gentle hands and constant presence. He was known as a kind and gentle soul, remembered for his generosity and the joy he brought to others. Billy delighted in spending time with his nieces and nephews, always spoiling them with thoughtful gifts, and he treasured his close circle of friends, who became like family to him.
In his younger years, Billy loved fishing and quahogging in Narragansett Bay with his father and siblings. In retirement, he enjoyed catching a casino show, trying his luck at the slots, and spending time by the ocean with his friends.
Billy's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Until we meet again, may he rest in peace. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
