Yvette Denise (Souliere) Manning Obituary

Yvette Denise (Souliere) Manning, 66, passed away on March 16, 2025, in Providence, Rhode Island. Born on November 25, 1958, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Yvette lived a life dedicated to education, family, and the simple joys that brought her happiness.

Yvette attended Cumberland High School before pursuing her Bachelors in Education at Rhode Island College and earned two Master’s Degrees at Providence College – one as a Reading Specialist and the other in School Administration. Her passion for literacy and education led her to achieve National Board Certification, a testament to her dedication to her field.

For 22 years, Yvette served as a Reading Specialist at Lincoln Middle School, where she made an indelible impact on countless students. Even after retiring in 2023, she continued to share her love of reading as a tutor, ensuring that children had the tools they needed to succeed. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom; she was a mentor and guide to many who had the privilege of learning from her.

Yvette will live on in her husband, Gerry Manning; children Nicole and Kyle Coulombe; stepchildren Aubrey, Nicholas, and Gerry Manning; and adopted son Patrick McCarthy. She is also survived by her grandchildren Logan Wright, Aidan Manning and Aurora Manning. Additionally, she leaves behind twelve of her siblings: Raymond Souliere and his wife Pauline; Theresa Hebert; Marguerite Girard; Suzanne Otis and her husband John; Roger Souliere; Robert Souliere; Russell Souliere and his wife Mari Ann; Carmel Therien and her husband Edward; Joyce Lafond and her husband Michael; Reginald Souliere; Richard Souliere and his wife Debra; and Roland Souliere and his wife Margaret. She also is survived by 26 nieces and nephews, 35 great nieces and nephews and 2 great-great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Gloria and Joseph Reyle Souliere; her sister Pamela; and her father-in-law Albert Wayne Manning.

Beyond her professional achievements, Yvette found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She had a deep love for cards and games but also enjoyed playing pickleball, working out at the gym, crocheting beautiful creations for loved ones, basking in the sun by her pool, spending cherished moments with her children, snuggling with her beloved Chihuahua Fiona, tutoring young minds, and traveling—especially to Ixtapa, Mexico. It was there that she married the love of her life, creating memories that would last forever.

Yvette’s warmth, generosity of spirit, and unwavering dedication to those she loved will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those whose lives she touched.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In Yvette’s memory, donations can be made to HopeHealth online at www.HopeHealthCo.org/InMemory or sent to HopeHealth Hospice, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904, or to the American Cancer Society.
