Alan E. Haydt, 63 passed away peacefully, on May 15, 2016 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI.  He was the husband of Theresa (Sylvia) Haydt.  Born in Newport, RI, he was the son of the late Dorothy (Mello) Haydt and Willard Haydt of New Bedford, MA. Alan moved to East Providence 41 years ago.  Recently retired from Allied Screw Company in Johnston, RI.

He was the beloved father of Elizabeth (Haydt) Lolio of Riverside, RI and devoted grandfather to Anthony Lolio, also of Riverside, RI.

Alan had a unique zest for life, and enjoyed many passions including a love of the outdoors, travel, woodworking, fishing and bird watching. He was a longtime member of the Warwick Sportsmans Association in Exeter, RI and a member of the  Ocean State Artisans of RI.

He is survived by his sisters Carol Haydt and Susan Poitras and her husband, David Poitras, all of New Bedford, MA.   He will be missed by his nieces, Kristen Geary of Cranston, RI and Kelci Sylvia of New Bedford and his nephews, William Arruda, Jr. of Uxbridge, MA and Tyler Sylvia of New Bedford, MA. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service celebrating Mr. Haydt’s life at 11am on Friday, May 20th in the Swan Point Cemetery Chapel, 585 Blackstone Blvd. Providence, RI.  Interment to follow in the Cedar Columbarium with a reception in the Gray Coale Hall at Swan Point.
