Funeral and Cremation Services

Robert William Feucht left this life peacefully on January 11, 2019 surrounded by his family. He is predeceased by his forever love, Virginia Ann Feucht.

Born on November 16, 1932, he was the second son of four children (Ed, Bob, Marlenne & Alice) of Herman & Janet Feucht who raised their children on a farm in Webster, NY. There he developed a strong work ethic, love of animals and became an excellent Euchre (card) player.

Bob graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Political Science. At Syracuse he met his wife Virginia on a blind date and married on June 12, 1954. Bob served in the Navy from 1954 – 1956. And ultimately built and ran a fund raising business supporting philanthropic organizations.

He was a kind man with dry, subtle sense of humor (think Tim Conway or Bob Newhart). With a quiet and generous manner, all who knew him felt his authentic integrity. He was the kind of Dad who might help you pull together a last-minute Halloween costume that he would make from pillow sheets, markers and ties from his own closet. The kind of dad that if you called in need, he would show up and to help in his calm way. A Dad whose actions spoke louder than his words and made you want to be like him; make him proud.

Bob is survived by: his sister Alice Buchheit and her husband Rudy, son Bill Feucht and his wife Jennifer Bates, daughter Laura Mecham and her husband Walter, and daughter Amy Hogarth and her wife Emma.

He was also a very proud grandfather for four grandchildren: Kyle & Taylor Mecham, Matthew Feucht and Jae Vero Martinez Hogarth, and adored uncle to many nieces and nephews.

His children wish to extend the deepest gratitude to his caregivers at Wingate on Blackstone and the Bristol Veteran’s Home that supported and enjoyed their Father in his last years.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 19th, 1:00 PM at Swan Point Cemetery Historic Chapel, 585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence, RI.

Immediately following the Memorial join us for a gathering of family & friends to celebrate Bob’s life at Amy & Emma’s home: 231 Lenox Ave, Providence.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Bob’s memory to either:
Horses Bring Hope, www.horsesbringhoperi.org, Horses Bring Hope (Facebook)
RI Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA), www.rispca.com
