Kim Stevenson, age 56, died on October 25, 2017 at Philip Hulitar Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer.  She leaves behind her lifelong best friends; Leah DiGiulio and Trinda Johnson Prior. 

Born in Pawtucket, Kim was the daughter of the late Bernadette (Vadenais) and her birth father, George Whittle, and adopted father, Harry Stevenson.  She is survived by her brother, Glen Stevenson of Pascoag, RI.  She also had two step brothers; Frank and Jonathan Stevenson of Rhode Island.  She will be missed by her cousin Elaine Vadenais and her many other cousins, nieces and nephews. 

A lifelong resident of Lincoln, Kim graduated from University of Rhode Island earning a Bachelor’s Degree. She worked in the hospitality industry and made many friends working at Beau James, Spats, and the Rue De L’espoir and as the Banquet Captain at the RI Convention Center.  She also worked in catering at White Glove Service and RSI Catering.

Kim had a love for sports and music.  She enjoyed playing table tennis, softball, tennis, bowling, and pool and played guitar at many local establishments.  She had a love for helping people and animals.  She rescued many animals including her dog, Ruby and Harry; and her cat whom would follow her everywhere earning him the name “Bug Cat”. 

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Kim’s funeral service from 1pm to 3pm on Sunday, November 5, at the Olson & Parent Funeral Home, 417 Plainfield St. Providence, RI 02909.

Burial will be private.
